The Reds have been tracking Bastien throughout his impressive loan spell with Serie B outfit Avellino and have moved quickly to secure his services.

Italian website Irpinia News claim the talented midfielder has agreed a deal in principal to joinLiverpool, where he will become Jurgen Klopp's fourth major signing.

The Belgium Under-21 international is valued at £4.6m and will be loaned out immediately to gain top-tier experience.
