Florentino Perez has hailed Zinedine Zidane a Real Madrid legend for making history at the club.
The Frenchman guided Real to Champions League glory on Saturday by beating cross-city rivals Atletico 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, having only taken over from Rafa Benitez in January.
It was Zidane's third Champions League title having won as a player with Real in 2002 and then as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant in 2014.

Perez told Marca, 'The key element is Zidane. He has changed the recent history of Real Madrid.
'Since 2001 he has created a way to understand football that has helped us win these European Cups.'
And the Real Madrid president said he was not surprised that the club won the Champions League this season as he revealed Zidane promised him success when he took the job.
Zidane told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez he would win something when he was appointed
'Zidane symbolises the values of Real Madrid like respect, humbleness and talent,' he said.
'When I spoke to him back in January he told me he was ready to work and that he knew Real Madrid and its changing room very well.
'He said to me: 'Don't worry president, we will win something. I'm certain'.'
